Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Cement, Cement & Glass and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321), which rose 9.87% or 1.50 points to trade at 16.70 at the close. KPT Industries Ltd (TW:1805) added 9.87% or 1.10 points to end at 12.25 and Plotech Co Ltd (TW:6141) was up 9.09% or 1.70 points to 20.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Solytech Enterprise Corp (TW:1471), which lost 5.65% or 0.31 points to trade at 5.18 in late trade. Gourmet Master Co Ltd (TW:2723) declined 5.38% or 20.00 points to end at 351.50 and Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512) shed 5.11% or 0.70 points to 13.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 387 to 369 and 120 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.11% or 0.05 to $46.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $48.98 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.66 to trade at $1229.16 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.39% to 30.390, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2237.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 95.05.
