Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Glass, Transport and Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Unitech Printed Circuit Board Corp (TW:2367), which rose 10.00% or 1.70 points to trade at 18.70 at the close. Harvatek Corp (TW:6168) added 9.98% or 2.00 points to end at 22.05 and Taimide Tech Inc (TW:3645) was up 9.98% or 6.20 points to 68.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kinsus Interconnect Technology Corp (TW:3189), which lost 9.89% or 7.20 points to trade at 65.60 in late trade. Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912) declined 8.55% or 13.00 points to end at 139.00 and Darfon Electronics Corp (TW:8163) shed 7.76% or 2.50 points to 29.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 463 to 313 and 103 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.65% or 0.38 to $57.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.44% or 0.28 to hit $63.45 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.41% or 5.20 to trade at $1277.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 30.022, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2203.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 93.14.
