Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electronic Parts/Components, Other Electronic and Machinery sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Holy Stone Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3026), which rose 10.00% or 9.50 points to trade at 104.50 at the close. Taimide Tech Inc (TW:3645) added 9.99% or 7.10 points to end at 78.20 and Kuangli Photoelectric Technology Co Ltd (TW:6431) was up 9.96% or 1.25 points to 13.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475), which lost 10.00% or 11.10 points to trade at 99.90 in late trade. RichWave Technology Corp (TW:4968) declined 4.18% or 4.10 points to end at 94.10 and Airmate Cayman International Co Ltd (TW:1626) shed 4.01% or 0.95 points to 22.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 528 to 222 and 130 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.30% or 0.17 to $57.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.24% or 0.15 to hit $63.95 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.18% or 2.30 to trade at $1266.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.17% to 29.937, while TWD/CNY fell 0.23% to 0.2205.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.08.
