Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Transport and Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gigastorage Corp (TW:2406), which rose 9.97% or 0.71 points to trade at 7.83 at the close. WUS Printed Circuit Co Ltd (TW:2316) added 9.97% or 1.55 points to end at 17.10 and Tex-Ray Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1467) was up 9.95% or 1.10 points to 12.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475), which lost 9.91% or 1.60 points to trade at 14.55 in late trade. Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) declined 9.90% or 4.05 points to end at 36.85 and Sino Horizon Holdings Ltd (TW:2923) shed 6.81% or 1.45 points to 19.85.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 395 to 389 and 132 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.46% or 0.30 to $66.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.39% or 0.28 to hit $72.91 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1199.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.22% to 30.718, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2238.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.21.
