Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Other Electronic, Glass and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board Corp (TW:8046), which rose 10.00% or 2.50 points to trade at 27.50 at the close. Episil-Precision Inc (TW:3016) added 10.00% or 2.80 points to end at 30.80 and Bright Led Electronics Corp (TW:3031) was up 9.91% or 1.65 points to 18.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Winbond Electronics Corp (TW:2344), which lost 6.63% or 1.85 points to trade at 26.05 in late trade. Nien Made Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:8464) declined 5.86% or 19.00 points to end at 305.50 and Paiho Shih Holdings Corp (TW:8404) shed 5.58% or 4.00 points to 67.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 409 to 352 and 116 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.17% or 0.09 to $52.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.14% or 0.08 to hit $58.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.29% or 3.66 to trade at $1274.64 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.01% to 30.272, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2195.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.85.
