Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Glass, Optoelectronic and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Danen Technology Corp (TW:3686), which rose 9.97% or 0.71 points to trade at 7.83 at the close. Vivotek Inc (TW:3454) added 9.80% or 10.00 points to end at 112.00 and San Fu Chemical Co Ltd (TW:4755) was up 8.19% or 3.40 points to 44.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518), which lost 5.91% or 2.50 points to trade at 39.80 in late trade. General Plastic Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6128) declined 5.74% or 2.75 points to end at 45.15 and Chateau International Development Co Ltd (TW:2722) shed 5.29% or 1.90 points to 34.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 474 to 291 and 107 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.06% or 0.03 to $50.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.45% or 0.25 to hit $55.87 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 2.52 to trade at $1274.32 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 30.456, while TWD/CNY fell 0.14% to 0.2181.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 93.64.
