Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA), which rose 1.59% or 0.360 points to trade at 23.060 at the close. Ferrovial (MC:FER) added 1.19% or 0.220 points to end at 18.770 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was up 1.03% or 0.230 points to 22.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amadeus IT (MC:AMA), which lost 2.65% or 1.640 points to trade at 60.240 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 2.42% or 0.590 points to end at 23.790 and Viscofan (MC:VIS) shed 2.28% or 1.100 points to 47.140.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 111 to 64 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.14% or 1.75 to $1291.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.83% or 0.43 to hit $51.16 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.66 to trade at $59.82 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1478, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8907.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 95.130.
