Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.59% or 0.705 points to trade at 27.955 at the close. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) added 1.84% or 1.320 points to end at 72.900 and Indra A (MC:IDR) was up 1.49% or 0.155 points to 10.545 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 3.23% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.097 in late trade. Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) declined 0.56% or 0.07 points to end at 12.33 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) shed 0.12% or 0.022 points to 18.343.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 126 to 34 and 10 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.53% or 6.50 to $1224.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.91% or 0.63 to hit $69.64 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.27% or 0.94 to trade at $74.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1589, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8936.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 94.94.
