Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acciona (MC:ANA), which rose 2.42% or 1.740 points to trade at 73.640 at the close. Gas Natural (MC:GAS) added 1.62% or 0.350 points to end at 21.910 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was up 1.46% or 0.390 points to 27.020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which lost 3.54% or 0.280 points to trade at 7.634 in late trade. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) declined 2.17% or 0.260 points to end at 11.700 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) shed 1.80% or 0.480 points to 26.180.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 89 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.48% or 6.10 to $1262.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.67% or 2.50 to hit $70.58 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.43% or 1.81 to trade at $76.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1667, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8811.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 94.21.
