Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Viscofan (MC:VIS), which rose 2.48% or 1.500 points to trade at 62.100 at the close. Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) added 1.67% or 0.300 points to end at 18.270 and Iberdrola (MC:IBE) was up 1.65% or 0.102 points to 6.278 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which lost 3.93% or 0.970 points to trade at 23.740 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) declined 3.57% or 0.234 points to end at 6.312 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) shed 2.90% or 0.340 points to 11.380.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 79 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1230.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.76% or 0.52 to hit $69.17 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.70 to trade at $79.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1513, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.8827.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 95.44.
