Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 1.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which rose 3.15% or 4.94 points to trade at 161.74 at the close. Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) added 2.25% or 96.0 points to end at 4356.0 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 1.83% or 0.860 points to 47.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER), which lost 3.52% or 7.14 points to trade at 195.75 in late trade. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 3.41% or 3.36 points to end at 95.14 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) shed 3.21% or 2.95 points to 88.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 139 to 70 and 12 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.81% to 25.510.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.30% or 16.00 to $1210.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.96% or 0.58 to hit $60.09 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.96% or 0.68 to trade at $69.97 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.38% to 67.8287, while EUR/RUB rose 1.13% to 76.8365.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 96.71.
