Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 5.10% or 4.80 points to trade at 99.00 at the close. Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO) added 3.40% or 440.0 points to end at 13400.0 and ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) was up 2.38% or 1.760 points to 75.610 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which lost 1.66% or 0.0470 points to trade at 2.7835 in late trade. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 1.62% or 0.0153 points to end at 0.9301 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) shed 1.29% or 1.71 points to 130.63.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 98 and 26 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.92% to 28.000.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.54% or 7.20 to $1319.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.02% or 0.48 to hit $46.50 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.33% or 0.66 to trade at $48.79 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.76% to 65.2539, while EUR/RUB rose 0.43% to 72.727.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 96.01.
