Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Manufacturing and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL), which rose 3.76% or 188.0 points to trade at 5182.0 at the close. PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) added 2.88% or 71.0 points to end at 2537.0 and Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER) was up 2.21% or 4.79 points to 221.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM), which lost 4.75% or 3.44 points to trade at 68.99 in late trade. AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) declined 4.56% or 0.590 points to end at 12.335 and NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) shed 3.29% or 10.70 points to 314.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 123 to 101 and 18 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 7.62% to 17.580.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.41 to $1278.49 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.20% or 1.25 to hit $55.51 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.15% or 1.36 to trade at $61.80 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.27% to 60.1165, while EUR/RUB rose 2.14% to 70.7500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 93.89.
