Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were MosEnrg (MCX:MSNG), which rose 5.14% or 0.1495 points to trade at 3.0555 at the close. Polyus Zoloto OAO (MCX:PLZL) added 4.80% or 207.0 points to end at 4523.0 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) was up 2.47% or 247.0 points to 10247.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yevroplan PAO (MCX:EPLN), which lost 2.44% or 19.0 points to trade at 761.0 in late trade. Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG) declined 2.44% or 20.5 points to end at 820.0 and Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK) shed 1.36% or 0.95 points to 69.13.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 111 to 103 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.66% to 19.690.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.34% or 4.48 to $1319.78 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.35% or 0.63 to hit $45.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.12 to trade at $51.30 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.50% to 58.7308, while EUR/RUB rose 0.86% to 70.5833.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 91.97.
