Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which rose 2.46% or 0.300 points to trade at 12.500 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 0.94% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.4300 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 0.33% or 0.0110 points to 3.3020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 2.81% or 0.0240 points to trade at 0.8310 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 1.65% or 0.0170 points to end at 1.0130 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 1.34% or 0.0034 points to 0.2497.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.24% or 0.14 to $58.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.65% or 0.34 to hit $52.13 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.48 to trade at $1279.78 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1809, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.8912.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 93.55.
