Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 1.88% or 0.2600 points to trade at 14.0800 at the close. Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) added 0.85% or 0.0070 points to end at 0.8295 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 0.66% or 0.0160 points to 2.4240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 7.15% or 0.4700 points to trade at 6.1000 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.86% or 0.0320 points to end at 1.6900 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 1.55% or 0.0850 points to 5.3900.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.66% or 0.41 to $62.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.83% or 0.44 to hit $53.69 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 2.90 to trade at $1243.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1351, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8907.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 96.925.
