Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 3.63% or 0.0400 points to trade at 1.1410 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 1.41% or 0.0600 points to end at 4.3190 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 0.70% or 0.0260 points to 3.7510 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 8.01% or 0.0250 points to trade at 0.2870 in late trade. REN (LS:RENE) declined 1.30% or 0.0320 points to end at 2.4300 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 1.07% or 0.1750 points to 16.1750.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.09% or 0.69 to $62.65 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.46% or 0.26 to hit $56.88 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 6.90 to trade at $1248.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1765, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 93.87.
