Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.23% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.63% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.8740 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.26% or 0.2200 points to end at 17.6900 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 0.45% or 0.0220 points to 4.9380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 6.76% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.1930 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 3.18% or 0.0850 points to end at 2.5900 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 2.25% or 0.4000 points to 17.4000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.70% or 0.54 to $78.18 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.49% or 0.34 to hit $70.11 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.60 to trade at $1207.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1620, while EUR/GBP rose 0.77% to 0.9022.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 95.04.
