Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which rose 2.44% or 0.250 points to trade at 10.500 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 1.53% or 0.2000 points to end at 13.2450 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 0.72% or 0.0019 points to 0.2641 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 3.33% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.2320 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 2.04% or 0.4500 points to end at 21.6000 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 1.76% or 0.1600 points to 8.9300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.34% or 0.25 to $72.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $68.28 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.47% or 5.70 to trade at $1229.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1708, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8927.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.64% at 94.37.
