Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 4.36% or 0.2800 points to trade at 6.7000 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 3.78% or 0.1400 points to end at 3.8440 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 3.75% or 0.5450 points to 15.0600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 1.17% or 0.0420 points to trade at 3.5420 in late trade. Ramada Investimentos e Industria SA (LS:RAMA) declined 0.56% or 0.050 points to end at 8.800 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 0.50% or 0.0120 points to 2.3960.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 2.74% or 1.63 to $61.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.12% or 1.59 to hit $52.52 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.01% or 12.40 to trade at $1238.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1354, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.8911.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 96.865.
