Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 6.27% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.3050 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 5.33% or 0.0129 points to end at 0.2550 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 2.89% or 0.0700 points to 2.4890 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which lost 1.25% or 0.0860 points to trade at 6.8140 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 0.52% or 0.0160 points to end at 3.0790 and EDP (LS:EDP) 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 2.9080.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 26 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.76% or 1.11 to $62.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.81% or 1.05 to hit $56.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.89% or 11.47 to trade at $1283.43 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1858, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.8824.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 93.12.
