Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 7.24% or 0.1100 points to trade at 1.6300 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 2.33% or 0.0055 points to end at 0.2416 and Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) was up 2.25% or 0.0185 points to 0.8405 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 0.38% or 0.0400 points to trade at 10.6000 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 0.26% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.7630 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) 0.00% or 0.000 points to 8.100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 7 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 2.63% or 1.55 to $60.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.32% or 1.17 to hit $51.59 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1228.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1342, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8849.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.885.
