Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 3.39% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.3048 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.86% or 0.0065 points to end at 0.2335 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 2.33% or 0.0760 points to 3.3340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 1.42% or 0.0500 points to trade at 3.4600 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 1.00% or 0.0120 points to end at 1.1890 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 0.68% or 0.0300 points to 4.4100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.77% or 0.48 to $63.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.56% or 0.33 to hit $59.52 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.53% or 20.40 to trade at $1350.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.2418, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8882.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 89.12.
