Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 5.51% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.2680 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 4.94% or 0.0124 points to end at 0.2636 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 2.19% or 0.0200 points to 0.9330 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which lost 1.18% or 0.0950 points to trade at 7.9500 in late trade. REN (LS:RENE) declined 0.93% or 0.0220 points to end at 2.3560 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) shed 0.90% or 0.100 points to 10.950.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 25 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.07% or 0.83 to $76.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.97% or 0.65 to hit $66.39 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 4.70 to trade at $1295.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1663, while EUR/GBP fell 0.63% to 0.8739.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 94.14.
