Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 3.28% or 0.0071 points to trade at 0.2234 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.46% or 0.165 points to end at 11.435 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.26% or 0.0400 points to 3.2250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 0.68% or 0.0250 points to trade at 3.6700 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 0.62% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.3220 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 0.18% or 0.0250 points to 13.9100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 12 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 3.59% or 1.82 to $52.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.55% or 1.17 to hit $47.13 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.61% or 8.02 to trade at $1322.12 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1873, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.9213.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 92.87.
