Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.71% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.56% or 0.0440 points to trade at 1.7660 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 1.68% or 0.0640 points to end at 3.8720 and Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) was up 1.54% or 0.0130 points to 0.8585 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 0.53% or 0.0010 points to trade at 0.1860 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 0.41% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.2444 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 0.21% or 0.020 points to 9.460.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 1.48% or 0.91 to $60.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.50% or 0.79 to hit $51.80 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.30 to trade at $1290.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1481, while EUR/GBP fell 1.00% to 0.8927.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.150.
