Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 3.68% or 0.1520 points to trade at 4.2860 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 2.78% or 0.0600 points to end at 2.2150 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 2.32% or 0.3800 points to 16.7800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 1.91% or 0.0047 points to trade at 0.2411 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 1.06% or 0.120 points to end at 11.200 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 0.62% or 0.0050 points to 0.8050.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 17 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.73% or 0.58 to $79.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.65% or 1.14 to hit $70.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.61% or 7.30 to trade at $1209.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1627, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8919.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 94.83.
