Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which rose 2.53% or 0.1300 points to trade at 5.2600 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.40% or 0.140 points to end at 10.160 and Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) was up 1.26% or 0.0105 points to 0.8470 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 2.77% or 0.0065 points to trade at 0.2280 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 2.34% or 0.0440 points to end at 1.8400 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 1.08% or 0.1800 points to 16.5200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.27% or 0.22 to $79.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.52% or 0.36 to hit $69.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 3.80 to trade at $1231.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1471, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 95.56.
