Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 2.81% or 0.1300 points to trade at 4.7500 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 2.17% or 0.0960 points to end at 4.5120 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.51% or 0.0160 points to 1.0760 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LS:EDP), which lost 0.85% or 0.0230 points to trade at 2.6810 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 0.65% or 0.0015 points to end at 0.2285 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 0.57% or 0.0140 points to 2.4500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.12% or 0.08 to $65.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.42% or 0.26 to hit $61.53 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 0.80 to trade at $1330.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.2317, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8825.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 89.80.
