Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP (LS:EDP), which rose 2.68% or 0.0800 points to trade at 3.0680 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.98% or 0.3600 points to end at 18.5600 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.98% or 0.2850 points to 14.6500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 0.88% or 0.100 points to trade at 11.250 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 0.77% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.2590 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 0.69% or 0.0340 points to 4.9200.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.15% or 0.11 to $74.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $68.19 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.39% or 5.20 to trade at $1323.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.2112, while EUR/GBP rose 1.05% to 0.8787.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 91.41.
