Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 3.55% or 0.1290 points to trade at 3.7580 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 2.50% or 0.0890 points to end at 3.6550 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 2.07% or 0.3100 points to 15.2500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 4.63% or 0.0098 points to trade at 0.2019 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 0.50% or 0.005 points to end at 1.000 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) shed 0.42% or 0.050 points to 11.950.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $53.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.37% or 0.65 to hit $48.13 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.03% or 13.93 to trade at $1337.27 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1963, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.9079.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 91.84.
