Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Energy, Chemicals and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 2.25% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which rose 0.28% or 0.15 points to trade at 52.80 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 0.19% or 0.01 points to end at 5.33 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 120.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which lost 5.98% or 0.32 points to trade at 5.03 in late trade. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 5.52% or 15.00 points to end at 256.55 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) shed 5.20% or 0.14 points to 2.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 331 to 189 and 160 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.79% or 0.38 to $47.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.94% or 0.46 to hit $48.47 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.71% or 21.75 to trade at $1252.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.23% to 4.4097, while USD/PLN rose 0.34% to 3.9355.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 95.28.
