Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.69% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which rose 2.24% or 0.56 points to trade at 25.34 at the close. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) added 1.97% or 0.68 points to end at 34.93 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 1.82% or 0.052 points to 2.905 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.02% or 0.890 points to trade at 86.190 in late trade. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) declined 1.00% or 0.050 points to end at 4.928 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 0.57% or 0.21 points to 37.79.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 43 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.33% to 10.55.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.10% or 0.05 to $51.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.75% or 0.43 to hit $56.73 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.71 to trade at $1286.99 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1806, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.8817.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 93.01.
