Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Support Services, Construction & Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were OCI (AMS:OCI), which rose 5.85% or 1.690 points to trade at 30.565 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad (AMS:RAND) added 2.25% or 1.37 points to end at 62.34 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) was up 1.51% or 0.12 points to 8.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AMS:GTO), which fell 1.04% or 0.82 points to trade at 78.19 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AMS:UNBP) declined 0.92% or 2.25 points to end at 242.30 and Aegon (AMS:AEGN) was down 0.91% or 0.064 points to 7.004.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 137 to 76 and 5 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.10% to 17.30.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.77% or 0.86 to $47.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.19% or 0.64 to hit $52.67 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.64% or 7.00 to trade at $1095.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.90% to 1.1032, while EUR/GBP rose 0.70% to 0.7057.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.64% at 96.98.
