Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Electrical & Electronic equipment, Construction & Building Materials and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares lost 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Alliances (CS:ADI), which rose 10.00% or 5 points to trade at 59 at the close. Meanwhile, Risma (CS:RIS) added 5.64% or 11.30 points to end at 211.45 and Med Paper (CS:PAP) was up 5.17% or 0.78 points to 15.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Miniere Touissit (CS:CMT), which fell 5.99% or 68 points to trade at 1135 at the close. Realis. Mecaniques (CS:SRM) declined 4.04% or 8.00 points to end at 190.00 and Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX) was down 3.52% or 6.00 points to 164.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 22 to 15 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Realis. Mecaniques (CS:SRM) fell to all time lows; losing 4.04% or 8.00 to 190.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.67% or 1.38 to $53.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 3.46% or 1.98 to hit $59.02 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.30 to trade at $1161.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.06% to 10.8150, while USD/MAD rose 0.42% to 9.8100.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.37% at 96.74.
