Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 2.08%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 0.81% or 1.740 points to trade at 216.830 at the close. Meanwhile, Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 0.53% or 0.490 points to end at 92.500 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 0.21% or 0.08 points to 38.03 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 4.73% or 0.660 points to trade at 13.270 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) declined 3.60% or 0.920 points to end at 24.700 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was down 3.46% or 1.520 points to 42.300.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 101 to 60 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.34% or 3.80 to $1107.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.68% or 0.29 to hit $43.02 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.20 to trade at $49.66 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.97% to 16.3153, while EUR/MXN rose 1.18% to 18.0137.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.00% at 97.24.
