Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Consumer Staples and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.84% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 1.24% or 0.41 points to trade at 33.57 at the close. Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) added 1.11% or 1.550 points to end at 140.680 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 0.78% or 1.580 points to 203.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA), which lost 3.30% or 1.730 points to trade at 50.770 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 3.27% or 14.190 points to end at 419.220 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) shed 2.91% or 2.300 points to 76.620.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 81 to 78 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.18% or 2.40 to $1326.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.69% or 1.21 to hit $43.69 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.31% or 1.09 to trade at $46.01 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.01% to 19.2751, while EUR/MXN rose 1.28% to 21.6906.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 95.32.
