Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which rose 2.17% or 0.940 points to trade at 44.190 at the close. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 1.24% or 1.510 points to end at 123.950 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 2.23% or 1.180 points to 53.760 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which lost 3.29% or 0.82 points to trade at 24.07 in late trade. America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) declined 3.29% or 0.400 points to end at 11.750 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) shed 2.53% or 1.080 points to 41.450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 79 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.80% or 10.35 to $1281.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.60% or 0.26 to hit $43.91 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.19 to trade at $44.78 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.88% to 17.7901, while EUR/MXN rose 1.00% to 20.4442.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 93.24.
