Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Telecoms Services and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 3.10% or 18.12 points to trade at 603.50 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 2.95% or 1.02 points to end at 35.58 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was up 1.75% or 1.510 points to 87.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 4.50% or 1.18 points to trade at 25.02 in late trade. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) declined 3.78% or 0.870 points to end at 22.170 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) shed 3.76% or 1.670 points to 42.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 132 to 102 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.21% or 2.70 to $1286.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.13% or 1.08 to hit $49.63 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.91% or 1.01 to trade at $51.98 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.17% to 18.8240, while EUR/MXN rose 0.14% to 20.1647.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 99.78.
