Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Financial Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 2.27% or 0.44 points to trade at 19.82 at the close. Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) added 1.24% or 0.290 points to end at 23.680 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) was up 0.74% or 0.190 points to 25.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which lost 3.18% or 2.43 points to trade at 74.04 in late trade. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 2.89% or 1.220 points to end at 40.990 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) shed 2.84% or 1.490 points to 51.010.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 184 to 88 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1247.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.37% or 0.70 to hit $51.70 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.37 to trade at $60.34 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.46% to 20.2153, while EUR/MXN fell 0.79% to 22.8844.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 97.433.
