Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which rose 1.14% or 0.720 points to trade at 64.100 at the close. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) added 0.49% or 0.440 points to end at 89.910 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was up 0.21% or 0.39 points to 185.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which lost 2.89% or 2.02 points to trade at 67.88 in late trade. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) declined 2.84% or 1.970 points to end at 67.500 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) shed 2.65% or 1.440 points to 52.890.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 164 to 127 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.43% or 5.20 to $1206.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.91% or 0.63 to hit $70.14 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.38 to trade at $77.84 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.92% to 19.1268, while EUR/MXN rose 0.58% to 22.3221.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 94.61.
