Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 3.27% or 0.45 points to trade at 14.20 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 3.07% or 3.880 points to end at 130.100 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 1.51% or 0.960 points to 64.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL), which lost 2.85% or 0.450 points to trade at 15.340 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 2.63% or 0.890 points to end at 32.970 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 2.58% or 0.490 points to 18.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 183 to 138 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 2.80 to $1201.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.65% or 1.15 to hit $68.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.27% or 0.99 to trade at $77.18 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.27% to 19.3515, while EUR/MXN rose 0.15% to 22.5079.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 95.07.
