Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 4.00% or 1.190 points to trade at 30.970 at the close. GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT) added 2.62% or 0.740 points to end at 28.960 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) was up 2.57% or 0.760 points to 30.290 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which lost 2.30% or 1.280 points to trade at 54.260 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.18% or 13.59 points to end at 610.02 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) shed 2.03% or 1.60 points to 77.39.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 143 to 121 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.39% or 4.80 to $1223.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.49% or 0.33 to hit $68.08 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.29 to trade at $72.61 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.68% to 19.0237, while EUR/MXN rose 0.77% to 22.1601.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.94.
