Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 3.00% or 0.630 points to trade at 21.630 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 1.92% or 2.060 points to end at 109.430 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 1.26% or 0.190 points to 15.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which lost 4.01% or 1.430 points to trade at 34.210 in late trade. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) declined 2.50% or 3.46 points to end at 134.70 and Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) shed 2.29% or 3.18 points to 135.74.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 131 to 130 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.12% or 1.60 to $1314.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.55% or 1.54 to hit $61.91 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $67.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.01% to 19.3477, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 23.2458.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 91.89.
