Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services, Healthcare and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which rose 6.32% or 3.090 points to trade at 52.000 at the close. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) added 2.90% or 2.490 points to end at 88.250 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 2.64% or 2.90 points to 112.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which lost 3.80% or 3.09 points to trade at 78.28 in late trade. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) declined 3.39% or 0.75 points to end at 21.36 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) shed 3.08% or 10.87 points to 342.03.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 155 to 126 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.17% or 2.20 to $1291.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $71.40 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.62 to trade at $78.68 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.99% to 19.9310, while EUR/MXN rose 0.74% to 23.4539.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 93.59.
