Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.48% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 2.50% or 2.820 points to trade at 115.710 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 2.49% or 0.890 points to end at 36.650 and Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) was up 2.46% or 6.250 points to 260.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which lost 0.80% or 0.860 points to trade at 106.000 in late trade. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 0.77% or 0.160 points to end at 20.750 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) shed 0.73% or 0.390 points to 53.020.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 62 and 2 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.00% or 0.05 to $1269.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.18% or 1.06 to hit $49.75 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.79% or 0.91 to trade at $51.78 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.62% to 19.2069, while EUR/MXN fell 0.58% to 21.5274.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 96.13.
