Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which rose 5.54% or 3.84 points to trade at 73.17 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 2.97% or 0.960 points to end at 33.260 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) was up 2.95% or 2.790 points to 97.210 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 4.55% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.310 in late trade. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 3.11% or 1.770 points to end at 55.180 and Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) shed 1.97% or 2.870 points to 142.890.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 74 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.13% or 1.65 to $1253.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $48.49 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $48.84 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.46% to 18.3422, while EUR/MXN fell 0.29% to 20.5804.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.33.
