Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which rose 2.09% or 2.80 points to trade at 136.56 at the close. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) added 2.01% or 0.56 points to end at 28.48 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 1.10% or 1.270 points to 117.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which lost 1.88% or 4.52 points to trade at 235.87 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 1.82% or 7.69 points to end at 414.00 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) shed 1.78% or 1.940 points to 107.160.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 144 to 93 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.94% or 11.48 to $1211.82 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.59% or 1.18 to hit $44.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.64% or 1.27 to trade at $46.84 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.89% to 18.0947, while EUR/MXN fell 1.05% to 20.6368.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 95.77.
