Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 4.99% or 15.090 points to trade at 317.710 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 4.88% or 0.860 points to end at 18.490 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 4.41% or 2.410 points to 57.020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 5.97% or 1.410 points to trade at 22.200 in late trade. Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) declined 2.13% or 0.260 points to end at 11.920 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) shed 2.12% or 0.870 points to 40.190.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 77 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.46% or 5.80 to $1280.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.82% or 0.87 to hit $48.59 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.23% or 0.60 to trade at $49.57 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.14% to 18.2822, while EUR/MXN fell 0.15% to 20.6913.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 94.53.
