Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Food & Beverages and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Halk Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:HLGYO), which rose 5.71% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.110 at the close. Anadolu Cam Sanayi AS (IS:ANACM) added 4.87% or 0.110 points to end at 2.370 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.55% or 0.020 points to 0.460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which lost 3.50% or 0.120 points to trade at 3.310 in late trade. Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) declined 2.66% or 0.84 points to end at 30.70 and Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO) shed 2.15% or 0.070 points to 3.190.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 214 to 135 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.22% or 2.77 to $1251.53 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.00% or 1.39 to hit $47.73 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.84% or 1.38 to trade at $49.98 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.21% to 3.5648, while EUR/TRY rose 0.30% to 4.1556.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 93.83.
